A Simple Trick To Overcome Procrastination And Laziness
We all feel lazy sometimes at one point or another.
Whether it’s getting out of bed, getting started on a task or even making decisions.
The one thing you are missing is the motivation.
Motivation is what helps you get started, but habits are what keep you going.
When you implement this simple little hack and see the results you get, your next step is to turn this into a habit by doing it every day.
Now on to the simple trick…
Now this is something I learned from Mel Robbins:
Your brain doesn’t want to do anything…it’s lazy.
But if you give it something disruptive to do, it gets confused…
It actually gets out of your way for a moment in order to process the information you are trying to give it.
But in that moment of disruption, you give your brain a task to do, it will continue on that path!
This causes the right amount of confusion for the brain and makes it pause for a moment to process the thought of what just happened.
It’s like a little brain hacking going on here.
You might be asking, “How do I cause disruption and create some much-needed action?”
Do what NASA does when they launch a rocket into space!
Start counting down backward…five, four, three, two, one!
Then jump out of bed, get started with writing your blog post, pick up the phone and make that sales call, do something!
That’s it! Nice and simple and easy enough to be able to turn into a habit that will help you overcome your laziness and procrastination on the things you’ve been putting off.
The next time you feel like you should be doing something, but feeling lazy…start counting down and launch yourself like a rocket!
